Hi everyone!

I need some advice on hero builds.

I made a thread for general tips on the "questions and answer" section and got some good advice for builds since I was stuck on the Ascension missions plus a lot of good tips for the game that helped me a lot (if you are one of the people that answer that thread really guys those tips helped a lot! thanks again!).

The point has come now to fine tune those builds plus modify a couple of builds for heroes that I did not had a the moment of my earlier post.

My objectives: finish prophecies and EoTN (currently in hell's precipice and the dwarf missions on EoTN) and then start for HoM points (not really aiming to get everything... just play and see what I can achieve while having fun).

I only have Prophecies and EoTN so I'm fairly limited on skills.

The main problem I'm having right now is dying specially against Ice drakes, destroyers and titans/ashen hulks, Fire imps, Angorodons... Basically anything that have AoE spells pretty much owns me. So of course I'm thinking that healing needs too be bumped.

I'm playing Warrior/PvE (as in I'm using 3 PvE skills most of the time) my build is:

Usually I rotate PvE skills to either assassin or thecnobabble. any advice for that build?

Well, Cancer, this thread is in the wrong place, so it may get either moved or locked, however, I can offer advice on the heroes, though I've never run a Warrior. Sin Support is nice for balling enemies and for kding bosses.

Ogden - RoF does not help as its spammed. You should remove it, and cure hex is healing is it not? With only 3 specced into it, I'd go with remove hex as the recharge is faster. Divine Boon is also no bueno. Aegis is a strong prot spell that you can use and I'd use the other two spots for e-management. Get rid of blessed sig. for elite get UA that way you can find spots for other skills on other bars besides res sig.

Pyre - Don't use a pet, when they die they recharge the skill bar and he is already not as strong as he could be. Without sin skills to boost him to a crit barrage or more importantly a rit for weapon spells(splinter) he isn't very strong. I'd consider swapping him for another hench in eotn. Otherwise he is decent.

Gwen - Power Spike is decent for single target damage but there are better alternatives. Guilt is good e-management and works well to rupt foes. Cry of Frustration is another rupt that works wonders plus AoE. Swap those for Power spike and empathy. Epidemic for Shatter Hex and you're decent. Chaos Storm isn't used at all by heroes, so you may need to micro it.

Livia - SS is okay but overall this hero is weak. Lots of big skills with no real impact. You are a physical, go curses. Weaken Armor, Enfeebling Blood, Barbs,
Mark of Pain, Spec into/Mo healing. Dwayna's Kiss, Patient Spirit, Cure Hex, Res Sig.

Vekk - Ele attunement works wonders, get this elite. Rodgorts Invocation Fire attunement meteor, Searing Heat Tenais Heat, Fireball is a good build with just core skills. Meteor Shower is bad for heroes and firestorm is weaker aoe than searing/tenais. Immolate is single target.

Just as a quick note...Kindle Arrows is cancelled by Barrage, so at the very least you want to replace that instead (Barrage removes Preparations, which Kindle Arrows is). Ranger heroes are still competant as caster shutdown, so give him Concussion Shot instead. One of the best Dazes you can get with just Prophecies/EotN. Then I'd second the advice on dropping the beast skills for Conjure Flame or something similiar (With a Fiery string on his bow of course) to slightly increase his damage output. Might be worth dropping a point or two in Marksmanship to up the Fire Magic attrib several levels for more overall damage then.

EDIT: Actually, if going for a Conjure, avoid the Fire element. Go for Conjure Lightning or Conjure Frost (from Air Magic or Water Magic, respectively, with a Shocking Bow String or an Icy Bow String) instead, seems as there is alot of fire-resistant creatures in PvE.

Thanks Guys! I'll try a few of the combinations and see what works.

@Amy Awien perhaps bringing a pet with my secondary? so that I can control whether or not resurrection is needed, would have to sacrifice a PvE skill though.

1. Learn to flag your heroes apart as much as you can before fighting a group with AoE damage. You can also assign a key to each flag to make this more convenient for you.

2. You can try bringing more interrupter (e.g. Mesmer) heroes with you.

By the way, I wouldn't recommend bringing a pet. Pet is nice for the novelty and all but in high damage situations your pet tends to die fast and your skill bar goes into recharge cycle when that happens.

A few comments on the builds :

I agree with Net on the monk : not enough e-management to run Divine Boon (especially on a hero). Blessed signet is also quite bad (make him mesmer secondary so it has access to inspiration skills for energy, if you need them).

Pyre : not sure about Throw Dirt, he may be tempted to run into melee to use it. Favorable Winds isn't that great of a damage boost and has the drawbacks of nature rituals. Lightning Reflexes is nice for IAS and defense.

Gwen : Empathy is quite poor on heroes, and you already have a curses necro for anti-physical. Since you don't have Mistrust, maybe Cry of Frustration would be cool for mass caster shutdown (or you can replace one of the current interrupts with it).

Livia : agreed with Net. Bring Shadow of fear if you want anti-physical. You can also make her /mo with smiting prayers (Strength of Honor is invaluable for a warrior).
